Définition
L’absorption de photons correspond au processus par lequel l’énergie lumineuse est absorbée par un matériau, la transformant en énergie interne telle que l’énergie thermique ou générant même des électrons, comme dans le cas des semi-conducteurs. L’absorption entraîne l’atténuation de la lumière incidente.

Photon absorption is the process by which light energy is taken by a material, transforming it to an internal energy of the media (e.g. thermal energy) or even generating electrons as in the case of semiconductor property. Absorption results in the attenuation of the incident light.
