Utterance

is any input made by a human user to a chatbot or other conversational AI. An utterance generator can be either written or spoken. To work out what to do next, a chatbot must understand the utterance’s intent. For example, the utterance “I want to apply for a loan” will prompt a banking chatbot to respond with relevant information and processes.
