STEM

stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and is the applied, integrated approach to those subjects. STEM subjects have risen to prominence owing to the perception that these areas are essential to support the development of technology-driven businesses. Politicians and other leaders in the US and elsewhere have expressed concerns that students would be ill-prepared to work in the fastest-growing career sectors and have out in place policies and programs to encourage greater take up of STEM subjects.
